Simon Tissot-Dupont, the founder of S.T. Dupont was born in Savoy in 1847. In 1872, Simon bought a workshop that made leather briefcases for businessmen, after his company that manufactured carriages was burnt to the ground. He started supplying his merchandise to one of the biggest shops around that time called the Les Grands Magasins du Louvre, but continued to satisfy his private clientele. 
In 1919, the company was handed down to his sons Lucien and Andre. They gave the company a new name - ?Les Fils de S.T. Dupont? and began making fine quality travel cases and accessories. The company consisted of 250 workers and 17 other specialized tradesman like; goldsmiths, leather craftsmen, locksmiths, woodworkers, enamel workers, etc. Louis Cartier, NY invited Lucien in 1929, to exhibit his travel cases at their 5th Avenue store.
S.T. Dupont began supplying their merchandise to elite customers from kings and maharajahs to ambassadors and bankers. The company crafts 10 travel cases in a month, and they are made of the finest crocodile skin and tortoiseshell, with gold, silver and ivory. Dupont has moved on to manufacturing lighters, pens, wallets, watches and fragrances.
S.T. Dupont offer special edition lighters like the James Bond 007, Marilyn Monroe, Ligne and Mars. These lighters are made with the finest materials; some are even platinum and gold plated. S.T. Dupont is famous for its high quality leather goods and accessories as well as its perfumes and colognes.
